Loading ...Think again, even in the state California who helped elect Democratic Senator from Illinois, Barack Obama a proposition was passed to eliminate the rights of same-sex couples to marry. 
While its true the measure passed by a slim margin its proof that this country still leans right of center. Over $70 million was spent to support Prop 8.

Ellen Degeneres has called out prop8 in California. In a recent blog entry she asked anyone in California to vote "NO" to prop8. If you aren’t familiar with the article in question it is a vote to define marriage in the state of California. The idea behind the proposition is to nullify same-sex marriages. Personally I wouldn’t be surprised if we see Ellen at the California Supreme Court before the whole process is over. If you feel strongly about this issue and live in California then you need to vote, either for or against.
This issue is bigger than Ellen or California. Same-sex marriage is an issue this country will have to deal with on a national scale. I think in time we will see a constitutional amendment for same-sex marriage. If I lived there I’d vote with Ellen, in the meantime I thought you might want to see the proposed amendment.
